Good office Wi-Fi comes down to two decisions: how many access points you need, and which ones suit your space. WatchGuard access points are managed from the cloud, so staff and guest networks, updates and reports all live in one place.
How many access points?
Plan for about one access point per 1,500–2,000 square feet of space you want covered. Walls, floors and the number of devices all affect real-world coverage, so denser spaces lean toward the lower end of that range. In the shop, the office-size selector in the access-point box sets a sensible count for you based on your square footage.
Indoor models
- AP130 — small offices, remote workers and meeting rooms.
- AP230W — wall-mounted for hotel rooms, classrooms and conference rooms, with extra wired ports.
- AP330 — retail, point-of-sale, schools and busy offices, with a 2.5 Gb port.
- AP432 — large open offices and corporate or school campuses; 4×4 radios for high density.
Indoor & outdoor models
For covered outdoor areas, loading docks, warehouses and anywhere exposed to weather, choose a weatherproof (IP67) model:
- AP332CR — retail, schools, manufacturing and outdoor spaces.
- AP430CR — hospitals, warehouses and large, busy spaces; ships with six antennas.
Cloud management is part of it
Every access point needs a Wi-Fi Cloud Management license, sold with it per term. Standard gives you cloud management, a guest Wi-Fi portal, 24-hour reports and 24/7 support. Unified Security Platform adds 30-day reports, VPN and network access control. Pick Standard for everyday business Wi-Fi; step up to USP if you need longer reporting history or tighter access control.
Want us to run it?
You can add managed service in the access-point box and our team will handle network changes, firmware updates and support for the full term.
